Flight Simulator 1
This is the first flight simulator cockpit that I built. My goals for this project were to have a fully-enclosed and fully-equipped cockpit that would feel very immersive, eliminate the need to use the mouse and keyboard in flight, cost less than $20K and could be built within a year’s time. The result? A fully-enclosed, very immersive cockpit built in just over three month’s time at a cost of just over $5,600.
By taking advantage of some great Black Friday deals, I was able to get a lot of the electronics for very reasonable prices. It also didn’t take as long to build something like this as I thought it would. Only three months, working on it in my spare time. Needless to say, I was very happy with the results.
