Going to build a flight simulator cockpit

I have always been a fan of aviation, but it wasn’t until I was in high school that I got into flying on a PC. I got my hands on an old F-117 Stealth Fighter simulator and despite not having a joystick, much less a flight stick and throttle, I spent hours on that thing flying with my keyboard and loved every minute of it.

As a freshman in college, a buddy of mine invited me to his dorm room where he had an old PC with an old copy of Microsoft Flight Simulator. We spent hours trying (and failing) to land 737’s and I got absolutely hooked..

That was over 25 years ago! Since then, I have wanted to build my own custom cockpit. Due to time and financial constraints, I have been unable to do so - until now! I’m done putting this off. Time to start building. I estimate it will take about a year and maybe $10K to $20K to complete, but it will be worth it.

Follow along on my progress if this sort of thing interests you. I’ll post updates on a regular basis on this blog along with pictures and videos. Your comments, questions and suggestions are welcomed.
